Rust · Backend · Distributed systems

Hi, I am Sidharth

Computer Science undergraduate building backend systems, distributed architecture, and open source.

Selected work · 05

Five systems, one thread.

Backend infrastructure, a knowledge graph, an Android player, developer tooling, and a desktop dock — each built end to end, and each with its own constraints.

Realtime backend

PerOXO

An actor-based WebSocket server for high-throughput direct messaging. One isolated task per session, routing over channels with no shared mutable state and no mutex anywhere on the hot path.

  • Tokio
  • Axum

Knowledge graph · Agent memory

Weave

Notes become a graph; the graph becomes memory any agent can use. Type a plain-language note and Weave extracts the concepts and relationships itself, then serves them back over MCP — search, recall, remember — with every node keeping its provenance.

Type a thought. Weave adds it to the graph.↑

A Weave note graph: people and concepts extracted from a note about FBI behavioral profiling work, joined by typed relations such as interviews, works as and leads to.

Music player

Rizumu

An Android music player built around one idea: your music, wherever it lives. Shipped through GitHub releases rather than an app store.

Developer tooling

bgit

One command for most of git. A published Rust CLI that walks beginners through the workflow and refuses to stage the things you would regret, like .env or node_modules.

Systems utility

OxiDock

A cross-platform VPS file browser over SSH and SFTP. Rust native layer with async session pooling and a key vault, React and MUI on top, shipped to desktop and Android from one codebase.

What I actually spend my time on

Backend

Services that hold up under load

Actor-based messaging, low-latency lookups and rule-driven workflows, written in Rust with Axum, Tokio and WebSockets.

  • Real-time messaging over WebSockets with actor supervision
  • Fast key lookups backed by Redis and quotient filters
  • Rule-based validation wrapped around Git operations
  • Peroxo
  • CargoCut
  • Bgit

Distributed systems

Storage with a plan

PostgreSQL partitioning, Redis caching and quotient filters, picked per access pattern rather than by habit.

Delivery

Ship it

Containerised builds, Jenkins pipelines and Kubernetes deploys.

Open source

In the open

Every project here is public.

GitHub→

I care about the parts that are hard to see: what happens under contention, where latency actually comes from, and whether a system still behaves when one piece of it stops answering.

A place for the working notes

This is my place for in between. Have a good read.
